The Buckel Family Wine Guide to Telluride

Looking for a weekend trip up to Telluride? Use this guide to help your planning!

Whether you are a wine connoisseur or just enjoy good food and great wine, Telluride is worth a road trip.

Stay-

We recommend finding a VRBO and riding the gondola to and from town! Or staying at the Lost Creek Inn with great access to hiking, mountain biking, skiing, wine, and the gondola.

Splurging? Check out the Madeline Hotel and Residences.

On a budget? There are plenty of beautiful campsites nearby like Alta Lakes and even the Town Campground!

Eat and Drink-

The Butcher & The Baker- don’t miss this place for a delicious breakfast or brunch! Try one of their many cupcakes.

There- Great for happy hour with cocktails and good food, with popcorn to munch on!

Communion Wine Bar- wine tasting in Mountain Village with great vibe.

Brown Dog Pizza- delicious pizza that’s well deserved after a day spent skiing or hiking!

Do-

Skiing- if you’re visiting in the winter!

Hiking- Bear Creek Trail is a great option right outside of town and about 1hr of hiking to the falls which will be beautiful this year with all the snow we had! Another full-day option is hiking Sneffels Highline Trail, a more difficult 12-mile out-and-back route but with unmatched beauty!

Looking for more? Check out Medicine Ranch Apothecary or pop into the Telluride Historical Museum to learn more about the town’s mining history, architecture, and the Ute tribes who lived there.
